I made a custom trim ring from ABS, and it was a little tight fitting... so it sort of warped out a little. So I took it inside and tried to heat it over the stove and melted the damn thing!
Just when I thought my two brain cells were showing signs of life, I commit a random act of bafoonery. Oh well, rev. 2 will be done shortly.
Udder than dat, everything works... and I get absolutely NO noise what so ever.. in between tracks on cd's it's total dead silence..... it's almost eerie... the Kenwood has a zero-bit mute feature which cuts the output off when no signal is being received from the cd transport.
Ironic isn't it... me... Mr. Amature stereo enthusiast who read a few books and talked to a few people online was able to do an install and get absolutely NO engine noise... and yet the last two times I over-paid (so-called) professionals to do it, they not only hacked my car apart, but I got tons of alternator noise as well.
Goes to show ya... if ya want it done right...
