i am going to put in some quart separates soon in my doors and was wondering what people thought i should do. i have an old a/d/s pq10 (4x40) that i am going to run them with. i also have 2 10 inch a/d/s subs that i am using the amp for now, but i plan to get a new sub amp (if anyone has suggestionsfeel free, i have seen people mention ppi and xtant a lot).

anyways, my question is should i run my amp 2x80 to the quarts and use the quart passive crossover, or should i bi-amp the speakers and run 40 watts to each driver and use my a/d/s active crossover which i have lying around.

my concern is tot. harm. distortion usually goes up after bridging. i have bi-amped quarts before with nice results....but then again i have to run two sets of wires to the speakers (or if i go passive i have to mount that quart x-over)....i dunno...what do you all think?
JoeyM '99.5 1.8T

the ADS 40W is not enough and the 80W has too much THD, then you can either try the bi-amp (not something I'd personally consider) or go for a larger amp entirely.

I would image that the ADS has an acceptable THD bridged as it's a pretty high quality amp - I don't have the specs, though.
Mark P

one of my amp channels is broken and i was wondering if anyone knows where i should getit fixed...and how much i should expect to pay. i am in nj, but often i am in ct, ri, ma, and ny.
i have gotten amps fixed in ri (a place called sounddesign) but they just send them to some place in ct, and they won't tell me where. i would rather just bring it there myself and save some dough. thanks
JoeyM '99.5 1.8T
