Cheers for your advice re amp install - i think my UK (therefore RHD) A3 is different from your A4 - however I did drop the drivers side panel down and hunted about - sadly no gromet - however I noticed daylight coming through into a white plastic box in the rain gutter below the drivers window so opened the bonnet and wired the power cable through there then up the LH side of the car. Thought that was the hard bit but WOW I was wrong. Had to run speaker wire, + 2 thick RCA cables up the middle of the car to the boot - this was damn hard (compared to my last car) as Audi uses 3inch thick carpet with insulating foam on the back (good sound proofing though).

Anyway, all done except one bit. I am using the standard conmcert radio (thefts of non standard units in my area are too high to risk the change to my old Alpine head unit) and I need to find the connector for the 6 pin line out on the back of the head unit into my RCA leads. Thought about stuffing multi core wire into the existing plastic plug and hoping for the best but I am a perfectionist and this would just piss me off. Any ideas appreciated.

Anyway, cheers for advice again - useful in a roundabout kinda way!

Cheers

David

even if it was just a little. As far as the adaptor for the pre-outs on your stock head unit, I wouldn't know where to even begin with that one. I'm using an aftermarket head unit so I didn't need to bother with that dilemma. I'd check with Scosche Industries though... maybe they make one.

good luck and keep posting on your progress!
