I would really like to upgrade the rear deck speakers on my Bose system with a pair of 2- or 3-way aftermarket ones, but apparently with the Bose setup I need to replace all eight speakers. Is this true? Or, can I get an amp and be able to change out just the rear deck speakers? Without an adapter harness etc.?
I want to keep my factory Bose head unit AND my factory 6-disc changer. I'm just really disappointed with the "mushy" mid- and low-range sound from my CD's -- the radio sounds great.
Also, has anyone heard of or used Audio Link products (www.linkmeup.com)? They have a product called Power Driver that's specifically designed for easier upgrades to the factory Bose system (keep head unit change speakers, or keep speakers change head unit). I'm waiting for an e-mail response from them for more info.
I should say that I'm not interested in a big-time audio system upgrade; hopefully I can get a clearer, more balanced sound without too much $$ invested.
Thanks in advance for any advice or comments on experiences etc.!
