The VW 6 pack in my wife's Passat GLX Wagon needs to be serviced (it skips even with clean CD's). Is that something I can take to a Circut City or Tweeter's (local stereo chain in Boston)?

Have you tried using a cleaning CD? The laser might be dirty. It could also be misaligned, then
you need to send it out for repair. If you're out of warranty, you could try Tweeter. I seem to
recall that there was a stereo repair place near the Comm Ave store on the Amory St side
of Ski Market.....not sure if its still there. Good luck!
