Lots of folks have discussed replacing the stock in-door front speakers (they suck) with MBQs, Bostons, and others. Adapters are often cited as necessary to move from the stock 4" (?) to 5.25" drivers in the doors.

My dumb Q of the day: Are folks also replacing the factory tweeters, mounted in a housing at the front top of the door beltline? Are they direct fits, or are adapters needed?

I believe the stock tweeters are 1.5" in diameter. The a/d/s/ component set I put in also had tweeter with the same diameter, but it wasn't a simple "snap in" job. It was made a lot easier by the diameter being the same, but I made some custom straps to hold them in since the a/d/s/ tweeters were a lot deeper than the stock tweets. Search the forum archives for "Jim Meyer" and "a/d/s/ if you want to read posts I made about it a long time ago.
