I just bought a '98 A4 and I'm looking for a CD changer. I checked a local shop and they said they've got an adapter for the '98-99 cars. I told them that the '98 has the 'Delta' radio, not the 98.5's 'Concert' and I wanted to know if the adapter worked in both. They just stared blankly for a little while and said that the computer told them it would work. I've seen a few websites with changers that fit '98-99s but still no mention of the type of head unit.

So my question is, will the adapter work on both the 'Delta' and 'Concert'?

I'm not sure about the changer that you are planning to use, but Clair Audi sell the OEM at a fairly good price compared to other dealers and all the controls on the head unit works where as those other changers may not let you control the changer with your Delta head unit. No need to buy an adapter also.

Check out Clair through the links page.

I have a '89, w/ Delta. Bought the BLAUfergnugen unit for $424.
Adirondack Auto Brokers has what looks like the same unit for $369.
You may get the newer style 'universal' mounting bracket, listed as part number 8A0-051-324. It replaces part number 8D5-051-113, which mounts to three hexagonal holes in the underside of the rear deck, and takes about two minutes to mount.
Check with your dealer: the old part is currently still available, and much easier to install.

Adirondack Auto Brokers
