I have a '96 2.8 quattro with 35,000 miles on it, and I figured I would change the spark plugs for the first time to help on those winter startups.

My question is: Should I stay with the stock plugs, or go with something else, like Bosch Platinums? Has anybody used the Bosch and seen any difference?

Also, it apparently is not an easy job to change plugs on the V-6. Has anybody done it before and have any tips/advice? Thanks a lot.

Easy job - only took about 30 minutes. The only hard part is getting some of the plug wires off (sometimes they have a tendency to stick - wear gloves so you don't scar your hands on the recoil). I went with the regular 3 prong plug and am happy with them. I saw a post here a few weeks ago stating that they work very well for this engine.
