On behalf of the various Editors and contributors to the AudiWorld website, we are proud to announce a new strategic partnership with North America's largest direct wheel and tire distributor -- The Tire Rack.
The Tire Rack's sponsorship of AudiWorld is significant for our readers. First, we will benefit from the combined knowledge base of the entire Tire Rack staff of professionals. This knowledge transcends any one given brand of tire or wheel, thus enabling potential buyers to evaluate different makes and models with greater certainty. Second, Tire Rack will be providing regular articles from its own testing and evaluation facilities. Whereas AudiWorld would not be able to buy and test multiple high performance tires, Tire Rack can and will do this on a regular basis. Third, we will provide active links to the Tire Rack website in order to facilitate quick and efficient online wheel and tire shopping.
Some readers expressed concerns in the past when our Wheel & Tire Forum was sponsored by a specific company. I would like to address this concern relative to the Tire Rack by making it clear that they will not, as a corporate sponsor, have the ability to delete or editorialize posts made on the Wheel and Tire Forum. It is not AudiWorld's intent to allow Tire Rack to "control" the dialogue on that Forum, but in fact quite the opposite. We believe that the Tire Rack will provide a great deal of active, positive discussion on the Wheel & Tire Forum, be it regarding brands that they sell or other brands available in the marketplace.
Lastly, I would like to make readers aware of the ever-increasing costs associated with the production of a world-class automobile website. Without corporate sponsorship we would be unable to continue to innovate and "raise the bar" for the automobile enthusiast website as we have done over the past three years. AudiWorld will always be free to its readers so long as they patronize and support those companies which make the website possible.
With best wishes for 2000, we look forward to another great year.
Sincerely,
Jason E. Teller
