My A4 1.8T has recently developed this loud squeal coming from the engine.
It usually happens after i have been driving for about 1/2 an hour. As soon as i accelerate after stopping at traffic lights, this loud squeal starts for a second at about 2000 rpm.
Whats funny about this is that everyone looks at me when im taking off.

Im taking it to the Audi dealer next week, but it doesnt happen every day so there is a chance he wont hear it.

If anyone out there has had a similar problem, let me know.

No final verdict, though...

brought mine in and of course it didn't make the noise .... thought it was maybe a loose fan belt but they tightened it and it still happens. Waiting to see what they tell alan t (see posts on page 4) he has his in the shop.
