View Full Version : Has anyone heard any price estimates for APR's stage 3/3+ ? how does it compare to PES's supchgr (nt Mike 09-28-1999, 04:45 PM Dmak 09-28-1999, 06:05 PM NickS 09-29-1999, 04:06 AM I would buy an S4 before I spent $4,500 (not including the install!) just to get 265hp. On the other hand, I would consider possibly spending $2,000 - $2,500 on a K04 (or similar) upgrade with all the required hardware (injectors, exhaust, etc.) and be happy with the 235-245hp. I don't think the extra 20+ hp is worth $2k IMO? I understand the cost to APR (and the other vendors) but I think they are missing an important part of the aftermarket crowd. There are those of us who can't or don't want to afford that much money to make our cars go fast. I've sent APR 2 e-mails asking if they had a middle of the road upgrade but have never gotten a response from them. Maybe they are just getting too many e-mails to respond to everyone? Mike-K 09-29-1999, 07:19 AM I would definetely be interested in a package around 235-240 hp or so from APR. Something a little more "daily driver" but still quick. Maybe less lag than their T25 package and a little cheaper. I'm thinking of doing modular upgrades with them but after the stage 2+ exhuast, chip and filter, it's a pretty big jump to 285-300 hp. Espeically if you consider long term engine reliability and performance. Not to mention cost for both installation and mods. Side note, does anyone know thier two intercooler modifications for the 3+ stage? Is one just the stock, or an additional smaller one for 285, and then the front mount for the 300 or what? I really don't want that "4 sq. ft. intercooler-modified-civic" look up there. my 3+ cents. |
