Does it bring the camera high enough so that you get a decent shot of the scenery outside? (I do not want have half the image taken up by the dash and wiper)

Would be great if someone can share some setup pics or samples shots.

My small p&s camera has its lens ~1 inch above the mounting point, not sure if that's high enough judging from this pic.

It can be used from all sorts of angles and adjusts almost infinitely. Normally I tilt the front passenger seat back as far as possible, then mount the camera via the side glass either front or rear window. So long as the glass is fairly flat (vs curved) and you clean the glass well and use a bit of water/spit to enhance the suction seal, there is no way it's coming off the glass until you pull the release. I've had video cameras such as shown in the pics above, go for many laps around the racetrack with no incident even in the heat of a Summer desert.

to the glass I mean.

That setup looks fairly big to me? Does it block the passenger's view?

this seems to be a cheaper/smaller alternative from hama, what do you think? might just position it near the top(beside rear view mirror) and flip the camera upside down.

worst site navigation experience evar.

and angled, you are bound to find something that works for you (did not know you will have a passenger).

The little Hama says it holds up to just under 2lbs. I don't know what load in what direction. The big Hama holds up to 3.75lbs. Depends what you want to hang from it, and how rough the roads will be I guess.

Does the mount not scratch / screw-up the window tinting film on the side windows?
