It was misting heavily this a.m.(not quite fog)on my way to work. I made a right hand turn onto a two-lane road and went to pass the car in front of me while turning and I punched it a little too hard, not hard mind you just too hard for that turn on slick pavement. I felt the rear tires start to slide out (oversteer?) and then instantly I felt the car pulling like a front-wheeler and then the rear tires got grip and I was quickly tracking straight again with a solid feel. All of this happened within a few seconds. It was a secure feeling to have all wheels working to keep me out of the median when I was making such an ordinary traffic move at fairly low speeds. THIS is why I wanted quattro, security in normal driving situations, not a "get out of jail free" ticket for personal recklessness. Not that any of us have ever been guilty of that. hehe. Just my rambling thoughts.

You said (oversteer?). I was in a similar situation, I admit I am guilty of being wreckless, where my rear tires got loose. I didnt let off the gas but I did oversteer. When I tapped the wheel back it felt like my rear was grabbing already, like maybe I didnt need to worry about oversteering. Nonetheless I did, and it made for a bit of a jerky feeling (I'll take jerky over crashing anyday) but I did wonder if the quattro would have adjusted for me. Anyway... It was a blast! Anyway else with similar experiences without oversteer?

When I first got my 944 (1st RWD car), a shower had passed through, and I was turning onto a 4-lane street. I didn't "punch it" at all, but managed to break the back end loose. Woah! Luckily, I didn't get "behind" on my steering and corrected it. "Snapped" right back in line. Whew! It's a little spooky when a car "snaps" like that. It's like magic grip all of the sudden. Can't wait to get my first quattro!
