Getting the passenger side door unlock switch replaced (it was bubbling).
They found a loose bolt that was rattling around in the rear hatch/lid. Not sure where that came from.
No more free oil changes.
Brakes are at 7mm front and 6mm rear. I understand that they recommend replacing at 5mm. Anyone know how much a brake job is going to cost?

And no, I'm not one to DIY a brake job. Maybe an oil change, but I'll pass on the brake job.

They said it was one of the clip-on fasteners which secures the plastic trim to the hatch. Noticed it shortly after purchasing the car, but I forgot to mention it at the 5K service. It only rattled when I closed the hatch.

and here all this time I thought my kid had shoved a small rock up the hole! Now that I know its a known problem I will get it fixed on my 45k service. This is a very strange little problem that appears to be quite common

Wow, glad I caught these posts. I just had my A3 in for an oil change at the dealer about a month ago and told them about the noise in the hatch. They told me it's part of the mechanism and I must have not heard it rattle before.
grrrrr. Owell, it needs to get another oil change soon.
