Hi guys,

my 2007 sunroof throws off a nasty whistle any time I drive above 65mph.(sunroof also rattles) Windy days it can happen at lower speeds.

the dealership is going to try and fix this friday.

any tips on what they should replace or look for. has this happened to others?

thanks,
S.

Typically it hasn't been our speed, but it's been the direction of the wind. We think cross-winds are the biggest triggers. If it helps, we also have the Open Sky option.

It hasn't been enough of an issue to bring in, so please let us know if there's a fix. Good luck!

my dealer fixed my open sky buzzing by re-lubricating all the open sky parts. It worked almost flawlessly, it came back a couple times about a month ago, but has been quiet since then. For me, it only occurred at speeds above 120 km/h.

I've seen other A3s on the forums have the dealer install 3 evenly spaced pieces of thin cloth at the front edge of the open sky opening. It's quite ugly. And only helped for some people. If you search the vwvortex A3 forums, you may find the thread I'm referring to, with pictures as well.
