Brembo Grand Turismo 355x32... SICK. I got into it with a WRX in the canyons the other day w/ the stock brakes.. it took me 5 corners to get around this kid (he wasn't the greatest driver but it was a good first kill) and after 6 hard corners I had no brakes. Complete mush fade. coming into a right hand sweeper that I like to go around at about 90.. (and puting space between myself and the WRX) I was going about 110 and I tapped the brakes to scrub a little speed before entering and there was absolutely nothing there. I made the decision to buy a BBK as soon as my heart came outa my throat.

I HAD to do this or I was going to get into some trouble in this car. I haven't owned a car in the last 6 years with stock brakes this weak.

night and day difference and they're not even broken-in yet.

as a side note... the two kids in the WRX, which had an exhaust, rimz and springs at the very least, rolled up along side me and said... "DAMN!!?? that thing moves... is than "S"?" I replied, "No it's just an A3 with 2.0"... the look on their faces was priceless.

I love my little sleeper... Can I still call, it that?

I was in aB5 S4 at the track with new stoptechs a couple days ago...front only and it was quite squirmish. Don't know if not having the rears done is what I was feeling or not.

these things are insane. B5 = more weight. Stoptech = cheaper and smaller.

Rears open up a can of worms... master cylinder, parking brake, etc.

I don't want to start a war and I'm not saying stoptechs are bad. But I did my homework and this set-up is over the top.

This set-up is also more expensive... it's a trade-off like most things.

and a ST kit would prabably work just fine and certainly be an improvement over stock... However, I heard that rotors need to be replaced more often w/ the ST and a couple other tid bits that led me down the Brembo road.

Everyone has to make their own list of pros and cons and do what's right for them. With this front set up, on an A3, you don't need rears. It works perfect w/ the stock master cylinder, I still have a park brake and the rotors should last the 2 years I will own the car. So, to me, it made more sense.

ECS may already have it, but R32, A3 3.2, TT 3.2 parts bin where I would look.

Again, not needed, but it may be worth for aesthetics.
