Recently purchased a 07 Brilliant Black A3, DSG, S-line. I'm can't wait to get started on the mods!!
I love the forum! thanks for all the great info!!
Pictures will follow soon.
So here's the first of many questions...I know about the search feature but can't find a more exact answer on wheel fitament. Does anyone have a recommendation for wheel offset if I want to go with 18x8 with the neuspeed springs? It seems that some of the pre-built wheels avail. are between 45 and 50mm. Is this right for the car?
thanks,
chris

It sounds like some people get away with 48mm offsets and minor lowering.

It rubs with s line suspension, albeit only slightly and under heavy load. Some have said that 225 tires can get by. With agressive lowering and wider wheels / tires, I wouldn't risk going much lower than ET54

So it rubs on the outer lip of the fender?
Does it rub front and rear?
Also what is ET does that equal offset in mm?
thanks,

It rubs on the bumer where it attaches to the fender (small piece of bumper plastic that allows for a screw to go into the fender) also a small part of where the fender liner bumps out. It only rubs in the back. Front is fine.

Ok so an ET54 would push the rim out more right?
An ET45 would pull it in. Anyone know what the range would be? With 18x8 ET43 if you lowered the car more would it tuck under the fender?
thanks,
chris

lower ET = closer to the fender. Higher ET = closer to suspension components.
I run Neuspeed springs as well and run a et45 19x8" RS10 Neuspeed wheel with 225/35/19 tire. No rubbing whatsoever.. not even close. I could put two adults in the back and drive as hard as I want over any surface and it'll never rub.
Anyway... the only reason to go higher than 45 would be if wanted to squeeze a real wide rim. For example if you wanted to run a 19x9 with a 255/30/19 you'd need a et54-56 (acording to Tomasz@StartupRacing) to get the set-up pulled inside more and away from the fender. I only have experience with my set up on an A3.
Look... if you're going to run an 18 anyway, don't turn this into a reaserch project. Buy an et45 put a 225/40/18 on it and be done. It'll never rub and you'll have a wide range of wheels to choose from.
The below link will help you sort out tire size... keep the new set-up within 2% of the stock rolling diameter.

tire calculator.

thank you!
I'm looking at several different wheels though and was trying to get a range that works and also to get an idea of how it would look. Alot of the pre-built wheels are different offsets and aren't avail. in 18x8 ET45.
Is anyone using different front to rear offsets?
I've read some posts that mentioned rear spacers, but didn't have the ET.

at SPP. he'll send you a bunch of pics of wheels that fit. and he knows about offsets and what's available and all that. Why go through a bunch of guesswork when you can cut right through it and do things right.

http://www.supremepower.com
