Today I took my car in for it's first 5K service and I must admit that I was very pleased with the customer service and the attitude of everyone I dealt with at Don McGill. This is my first upscale car (VW driver for years…) and I am used to a different sort of dealer. They changed my oil (I brought my own in…), rotated my tires, checked various things on the car, topped off all the fluids and gave me back a washed and shiny car. I thought at the minimum I would have to deal with the car smelling like burned oil for a few days. The car was cleaned up so well that there was hardly an odor at all. There were no smudges on the paint, on the interior of the car and the a-pillars were clean! That sounds funny but almost everytime I got my Corrado or GTI back from service, I saw hand prints on the a-pillar from the tech getting in and out! They signed my logbook and stamped all the appropriate places and put down when my next service should be. Too top it all off I was given a little white towel with the Audi logo and dealer name on it. Nice little touch.

For those of you use to such treatment by Audi, this is boring and old news. For those of you, like me, who are not used to this excellent treatment it is nice to know that there are indeed dealerships out there that are concerned about customer relationships and want your business.

I see alot of dealer/service info on this site. It would be nice for me if people mentioned the city that the dealer/service dep. is in. My A4 is on the road alot and I'm not familiar with dealership locations by name alone. Thanks

I'm soon due for my 3rd service trip. The loaner has been a Corolla, but still, it is free.

They did the TSB for the brake grinding noise, but it has resurfaced as of late. We'll see how they deal with it this time.

My first service was impressive as well. After initially being told there was a two month wait, the asst. service manager squeezed me in. Rotated tires, changed oil, washed and beautiful. Both the dealer and Audi called to check if I was happy. I was.

BUT... shortly thereafter my airbag indicator came on, and brakes squealed loudly. Another two month wait for service. After telling the dealer service that I was concerned, they again "squeezed me in". Because I was taking my nephew on a road trip about 2 weeks later, I told them I needed my car back (why would I want to drive my Mazda?)by then.

After many days of "tomorrow, for sure", I got the call to pick up the car. Not happy it took so long, but happy to have it back the night before my trip, I got in to take it home. I went to buckle up, but no reciprocal. Had to leave it again. Svc manager used the part from his demo to get me on the road the next morning, but the cover was missing.

When I called from the road, I was told that the service manager was "too busy to speak with customers" ??? but he was aware of my problem (nice of them to let me know).

One month later, I hadn't heard from them, so I stopped in. No record of parts being ordered. The asst service manager took the time to look and order the seat belt cover.

After a week, I got 2 postacrds telling me to call within 20 days and make an appointment for service. The parts were airbag ( I thought this was repaired, but guess not) and seatbelt related items.

Talk about how fast a dealer can go from blowing me away to blowing me off!

So, if you have your car serviced at PAUL MILLER AUDI in PARSIPPANY NJ--make sure they actually do what they say they did. If anyone from PM reads this--promote the asst service manager and dump his boss.

The last two times I have leased an A4 (96/99), I looked at Paul Miller. Each time, I was shunted off to the most junior sales person as soon as they learned I was "only" interested in Audi and not Rolls, Bentley or Land Rover. And, each time, I then got jerked around with high quotes and failure to follow up as promised.

McGill is tops in my book. I still have my car there for an extended service, It seems the transmission in my 2.8QM went south, I don't race or event drive "spiritly" as my freinds say so I was wondering if they were going to grill me. None so far.

The tranny is on order (new unit!) and until its together, I have an 1.8TQ Tip Avant to use. It came in handy as an airport shuttle and and transport to the Houston Grand Prix. Too bad they didn't have an S4 in the pace car fleet. It would have romped the C43 AMG!
