Posts in the archives reveal various opinions about the fit of Weathertech mats in the A4. The most positive post I read said that the front mats fit fine, but that the rear mats were a lousy fit. Has anyone bought a set *recently* and seen how they fit? I'm driving a 99.5 if that's relevant. And while we're at it...how about the cargo liner? Good fit there? The Clair site says Audi has discontinued winter mats, so is Weathertech the only real choice out there? But if they don't even fit right, that's no choice at all....All views welcome, and thanks.

I bought a pair of the front only and they seem to fit fine. Maybe a little trimming on the drivers side, but no big deal.

needed to be carved up quite a bit in order to get a good fit. I'd guess I took off about 30% in order to get a good fit. But they cut easily with a sharp utility knive and they are the nicest rubber mats I've ever owned.

I had uploaded 8 pictures of the mats and only the first one is still in the Picture Poster...very strange. I'll have to re-upload the pictures tonight.

Got my weathertechs from Clair last friday to go in my 99.5. Front and back, both, plus liner. Fronts fit perfectly with no trimming necessary in my opinion. Rear mats needed minor trimming (no more than 5%). Just cut along provided lines with a sharp utility knife as posted above. Trunk liner needed to be trimmed to accommodate CD changer access door, but again easily done along marked lines. Fit well otherwise. It even has cutouts for the cargo net. Not waterproof, of course, but protects fairly well and you can use the net. Overall, very pleased.

You had to trim the trunk liner for the CD changer access door? But that door is flush with that interior wall...I'm afraid I don't understand. Also, your trunk liner isn't waterproof?!? What's it made of? I bought a weathertech liner for an A6 wagon a couple years ago, and it's thick rubber. Definitely waterproof. So I'm very curious to know what your liner is like, i.e., the material, as I too was considering buying a front/rear/trunk package for my A4. Thanks for your info!

Sorry, for the delay in responding. Apparently, the A4 liner is designed for those with and without CD changer. As my car has the changer, I needed to cut away part of the liner in order to gain unrestricted access to the door. In a non-changered car, the liner would sit flush as you mentioned. The liner is waterproof, but, after cutting access holes for the cargo net I wouldn't call it water-tight. The liner is made of a heavy rubber as you stated. I still think the set is very worthwhile.
