I am specifically looking for some information in the issue from a few months back (April/May perhaps) that has the blue S4 on the cover. I am looking for an ad on the last page of that issue from a wheel shop that shows a picture of the Rondell 'A' wheel. I would appreciate the name and contact information (e-mail, phone number, fax, etc.) for the wheel supplier. Also, the price for the 17 x 8 size would be much appreciated. You could e-mail me directly. The information is for my cousin who wants to get a set of these wheels for his incoming '00 1.8T.
Contact: Autobahn
Tel: 01 953 717156
Fax: 01 953 718738
Price for 17x8: £135.00
Prices include VAT (whatever that means)
Sorry no email or mailing address provided in advertisement. Good Luck!

that at every time a product is passed it is levied - unlike in the States there is a ONE time sales tax, when the final cnosumer buys the product. Things add up pretty quick as materials pass from distributor to manufacturer to wholesale to retail to consumer. This tax is primarily responsible for higher prices in Europe.

A company can write off the Value Added Tax it pays out for raw materials, against the Value Added Tax it charges end users for the final product. While this system works, the ultimate benefit is to the accountants who get to "audit" every transaction the company has made once each quarter to prepare statements for Custom's and Excise, the agency that collects that tax (other taxes are collected by the Inland Revenue, Britain's IRS).
This system has also lead to a capital raising scheme (I'm unsure of the details), whereby the Customs & Excise allow new businesses to defer payment of the tax until they have brought in revenue to counter it. Therefore you see new businesses spending like crazy to raise capital in the form of defered taxes, in the hope that by the next quarter they will have brought in the revenue to pay for it!
