All,
Scheduled my 15K service in a few weeks, anything special at this visit? Have dealers tried to 'add-on' services that are not covered?
Any general advice abt the service would be appreciated. thx.

they washed it too
why would they add services you would have to pay for without your consent?
I had them rotate the tires which was cheap though I can't remember exactly it was like $10 a tire. I think it was inlcluded in my 5K (should have done it at 10K too but oh well.. those tires are gone now!)
My concern is just about them adding on 'not so necessary' items since they have you in the shop.

to the work being done.
My dealer will bring things to my attention and let me decide what I want to do. No snake oil though.

Too many use scare tactics with non-essential services in their effort to boost revenue.

for slimey shop owners trying to hoodwink women into spending uneccessarily. Mainstream dealers are lighweights by comparison.
I also try to build a bit of a relationship with the SA. Find out who is good via the forums before ever visiting - and then going in before service is needed and introducing myself. Seems to help a lot.

hoses every 3 or 4 years. To some people that's overkill, but to me, being female with all the safety concerns that go with that, and wanting a car that is reliable and capable of crossing the country with no notice, that's acceptable. I've only had one surprise in years of road trips all over the western US and Canada - some trips being 3500 miles one way, with lots of side trips and remote places.
Overkill? Maybe, but it's my peace of mind.
