View Full Version : How's your MPG on your "3.2" A-3 ???? Sorry forgot to specify engine. The Merce 05-11-2006, 09:55 AM Hankstamper 05-11-2006, 01:16 PM It was bad out of the show room, about 12/17 city/hwy. I was shifting myself with upshift at about 4500 but I couldn't even achieve 20 mpg hwy in Drive, on cruise control and at 65 mph. I switched to Drive and it helped a little. But Drive is too lazy for my taste while Sport is a little too frantic, so I went back to shifting, but with upshifts at about 3000 to 3500. Big improvement after about 2000 miles. Now getting 18/27. My car is very sensitive to even modestly aggressive driving. I can still see the city number fall to about 13 or 14 mpg with a heavier foot Waggin 05-11-2006, 01:51 PM For regular, anyway.. Now, my 94 Volvo wagon, 222 HP turbo 5 cyl, 2600 lbs, averages 24.5 MPG in a 50/50 curface/highway commute with the trans in econ mode. 70 MPH highway cruising gets about 26. At least, at wide open, the trans temporarily reverts to sport mode for maximum go.. Given the higher weight and power, I suspect I won't do as well in my 3.2 after it arrives next week. The AudiUSA specs page still says: "EPA fuel economy estimates (city/highway)*: n/a" Are they ashamed to admit how badly it does? Oh well, I knew it was bad before I ordered, but I wanted the AWD, so I have to live with it..

Atlanta gas prices

n828cl 05-11-2006, 06:45 PM But it is on the feds' - see the link below.

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/2005seleeng1f.jsp?year=2006&make=Audi&model=A3%20Q uattro</a

Waggin 05-14-2006, 05:02 PM |
