i just installed a euro nav plus on my 06 A3 (only difference between mine and the US unit is that i have a TV button)
my question is - when i open the car door - the nav turns on (without the key) it doesnt actually turn on - but it seems to start "powering-up" and the speakers make a slight hissing noise (you have to put your ear to the speakers to hear this) - if you dont start the car and the dome lights shut down - the system powers down. My question is - does the US factory unit do this???? Or did i mess up the wiring?

i went from double din - if you dont get the nav and wanna go to disc changer - i can sell mine

but i recommend the NAV - it ROCKS!!! especially the card reader - the only reason i didnt get it factory installed was that i could not find a white sport package open sky with nav

rare color i guess

i dont have the info/trip computer in the spedometer cluster - what am i missing information wise? when the nav is on - does it give you track and volume information? or does it give you more nav/ guidance info?
