Hi everyone!

Great forum, excellent to see enthusiasts about this car :)

I'm on the border or making a purchase (my first car purchase) and I was wondering if the timing of the 2007 models about to come out makes it the right time to pull the trigger.

Does this give an edge for bargaining down the price for an '06 with the dealers? If so, when is the best time for me to bring it up, and about how much discount should I be striving for?

Thanks so much in advance!

But in mind that the longer you wait, the less inventory is left meaning you may not get the options you want for your car. I personally would rather get what I want so I have no regrets later on.

I bought my car a month ago and is waiting for the delivery next week :) I was told that there were only two cars left with the exact options/colour combo I want in Canada when I bought mine.

In my opinion, the savings would not be substantial anyways compares to what some of the deals others have gotten here on the forum. If you wait until the MY07 get here, you may be able to get the MY06s at invoice or below but you may not even find any left.

Since we haven't even reached peak selling season, no more '06 allocation has been given to dealers, and the '07s are probably 3 months out, I predict iventory getting quite scarce. As dreamer points out, the trade-off between having slightly greater negotiating power is that you'll have to take whatever is left - if anything.

At some points in some years, our dealer ran out of some models of cars to sell before we got the new batch.
