Well, if you didn't catch what the problem was, I linked it below.

I stopped into the dealership today on my way home from work and spoke with the General Manager. Prior to this I had spoken to the president of our local ACNA chapter, who happens to know the GM very well. They had a conversation and I was told to stop in.

I stop in, and the GM was more than apologetic. He said it should have never happened that way, and he just told me to say what I wanted and he would do it. So, I said, that I want what I paid for as per my order.

He went back to talk to the parts dept and when he came back he said that it would probably be a large hassle to get all the parts, the wiring, etc.....So, he proposed, that he would just order me a brand new, 2007 exactly the way I wanted it and when it comes in, just do an even swap. He also offered to give me free maintenance on the 2007 which would not normally be included (it stopped after the 2006's). Basically, I'll just be paying for the use of this car until the new one comes in.

So, in the end, I'm very happy to finally get what we paid for, and I want to thank Darren, the GM of Parktown Imports in St. Louis for making things right....he really wanted me to know that was not the way Parktown does business.... and also, Mike, the St. Louis ACNA president for helping as well....He was a big help in getting me in touch with the GM and also a great source of advise.

Original story

I'd be extremely pleased. Nice to see them take care of it.

Next time I go to negotiate a purchase of any kind - be it a persian rug, a car or a toothpick - I'm calling you! Way to go.

The dealership is just lucky you didn't insist on Murano green.

That it would cost anywhere between 10k-15k for the dealer to do the HID for you (with labor and whatnot).

Maybe he was just blowing smoke to get me into the car that I really wanted (and it worked ;), but I'm sure they'd rather not throw away 10k (or whatever) on light mods, as opposed to the swap where they at least get a (slightly) used car back to sell.

This would be to make it exactly the same as a factory install..
