Does it take awhile to get to 20inHG?

Too bad because i'd love to blame it on your dryer hose intake :-P

Don't have a gauge yet in my A3, but my 1998 A4 1.8TQ with Wetterauer chip would always show less initial vacuum on a cold start (~18 hg), then once it warmed up a bit, settle in at around 24 hg.

I always assumed this was due to more air being routed around the throttle plate to the intake to accompany the richer mixture and create a higher idle speed.

Upon first start up I only get 5inHG and until I drive it hard or for long distance do I get 15inHG.

I dont have the dryer hose anymore :p But i'll be back when I log the differences between the setups.

Start car. sits at 14.

After 1 minute as the engine's rpm is lowered to .800 rpm... The boost gauge displays about 18.
