As a former pro photog and still involved with photography at a publishing level, I totally disagree with this type of corporate requests!
This is equivalent of asking for potential marketing and self-promotion material in exchange for a T-shirt!
Would you send me one of your wheels in exchange of a T-shirt? I guess not! Because manufacturing a wheel involves costs, as does photography, even at an amateur level. A professional done image could cost far more than one of your wheels even!

Why would you need "high" resolution images, if you intend to use them only for web publishing? Maybe you are unaware, but a high res picture will look exactly the same on the monitor as a 72dpi picture.

What do you intend to do with the unused pictures? Discard, send back, use in the future, as need arises?

Sorry, but maybe you should rethink this "request".

We are proud of our products and customers are proud of there cars, what a great way to show them both off. If you don't want your pictures on the site or don't want them used please don't send them in. We are also happy to give credit were credit is due and mark the photos with the photographers name if they wish. Our original plan was to let customers upload to a gallery on the site but realized people may upload unrelated pictures.

then don't participate. Wow..tough concept I know. Not like they're asking for 2 rolls of self developed pictures to choose from. They want a DIGITAL image (which costs how much everyone?). Get off of your high horse.
