So, with the new A3 3.2Q coming to North America soon, I got into reading about the relative advantages/disadvantages of the Haldex system as compared to the Torsen system.
I know, technically, how they work, and I read through some posts from several years ago. As far as I can tell, Torsen is "safer" in that torque is always split and the system reacts faster to wheel slip. Haldex, however, offers better performance and has a wider operating range (i.e. can transfer a higher percentage of total torque). What do people have to say about this? Opinions/thoughts/flames/real world experiences welcome.
