I've already checked out the archives and found a few references to this same problem. Once Audi replaces, what are the chances it's going to happen again. Am I going to have to buy an extended warranty to be able to support this thing or trade it in on a Subaru!!!!????

...be able to get a good deal on! I was driving on the highway, and this guy was behind me. Suddenly, I looked in my rearview mirror and there was this huge black cloud following him! I don't even know how the people behind could see where they were going, but the cloud kept getting thicker and bigger. Finally, the guy realized something was wrong (Bad engine sounds maybe?), and pulled into the right lane. Funny thing was, he kept on driving, trying to get to the next exit. I would have shut it down right there, because I'm quite sure that thing let all of it's oil out right away! Anyway, I don't know what happened, but I would guess the oil filter let go or something. It was practically brand new, so that seems like the most likely scenario. Anyway, since the guy drove about 5 miles with a giant cloud following him, I think the engine is probably toast, and thus the good deal if you want to buy it! :-)

Seriously though, the clutch issue is easy to fix, and if it were ever to happen again, it would be about $400 to fix (independednt, not dealer). Not cheap, but not the end of the world either.

The Justy (RickS) isn't a bad idea, but finding one that is still on the road and driveable would be a challenge!
