What's going on everybody? I have been following the forum for a little while now and I am ready to finally get my A3. I am just wondering if there is anything that you guys would change on your car? List 2 things that you wish you would/would not have got with your A3. Or is your A3 perfect the way you have it. I am pretty much sure of what I want, but you know how it is... gotta ask.

This is what the car is as of right now:
2006 A3 2.0T DSG Brilliant Black/Black
Sport Pkg.
Open Sky sun Pkg.
Nav+ Sound

hatch sills to make for easier cleaning and easier to buff out scratches. Better tires (premium package comes with all season Pirelli P6, and they tramline and are noisy).

Okay okay, let me see... You have the cloth and like it, or you wish you had the cloth? Rusnak out here has NO A3's with cloth, so I didn't get to check that out. Also, sorry for my ignorance, but what are the Aluminum door and hatch sills?

My car has the Convenience package (no manual/Sport available w/o Open Sky in colours I wanted), and the leather doesn't keep you in position in corners as well as cloth, doesn't breath much, it feels hot in Summer, cold in Winter, and doesn't damp sound as well as cloth.

The sill trims I'm mentioning are the highest point of the sill as you lift your feet into the footwells. A metal trim plate would keep scuffing down and dress up the car. Presently they are colour keyed plastic. Same for the hatch area. MK IV Jettas and Golfs had stainless plates at the highest point of the liftover point for the hatch or trunk - but not the doors. I've just seen scuffs show up over time, and it's a pain to keep them nice and clean. Tuners are bound to offer them sooner or later.

Here are some nice quality sills in the correct location to prevent scuffs. Also shown, is a metal footrest/dead pedal.

GET THE NAV+ . Even just for the SD slots for MP3s. I have hundreds of songs changed out every few days!!

I hate not having the auto dimming rearview mirror. I also miss having HomeLink. Other than that, I really like my new A3.

For me, these were the most important priorities:

Nav+ (its too cool and well integrated to pass up)
Xenons
Open Sky
Premium or Sport+Convenience (I would not recommend Sport without convenience)
MT6 (but would have accepted DSG to get the above)
Color (preferred lava gray, but went with black to get the above)

dsg is amazing and all the advantages of mt6 except easier in stop and go traffic. open sky is fun, i wish there was a "one-touch" feature like in my a6 though, still happy w/moro blue and light grey interior, not too hot inside even w/open sky

It's not a world of difference, but it would have been nice.
