After finding this great website and seeing that many people had easily made their cars look better by installing clear side markers and euro clear corner lights, I followed suit and purchased the side markers from Blaufergnugen and the real Bosch corners from Clair. The Side's made it first, and it was a painless install. The corners came last Friday. I had time to install them at lunch.
I did the left side. Took all of 2 minutes to pop the old one out and put in the new one. Took a few steps back and said, YES. Much better. (My A4 is yellow, and the orange side and reflector looked terrible against that color paint.) Went to do the passenger side.
Pulled the lamp out of the box. THE FOOLS SENT ME TWO LEFT CORNERS.
Checked the order in case I they person typing in my order had accidentally ordered two lefts. Nope. One left, one Right. Whoever pulled the parts just DID NOT LOOK.
So that really sucks. I hope they rectify the situation very promptly.
Anyone else had similar problems with Clair? I guess this will be my last order with them!

It was a simple mistake that anyone could've made. I've ordered from them twice before without any problems or hassles. If you just calmed down enough to notify Clair's of their mistake, I'm sure they will rectify the situation immediately and to your satisfaction.

I know what it's like to be waiting for something and get the wrong part, due to someone else's screw-up. It sucks, but don't let it reflect bad on Clair as a whole. Just bring it to their attention, so they can tighten up their procedures and maybe you can try to get a freebie out of them for your inconvenience. I've ordered from Clair a couple of times and have had great service.

No need to bash until they fail to rectify.
My experience with Clair has been top-notch. I've bought several items from them.

Maybe your experience was a fluke, because they do have a good reputation for service. I have bought many parts from them, and always end up spending a good deal of time on the phone with Mark Burns talking Audis (he has an A4 Avant) and discussing mods.
I would give them another chance, I bet they will impress you. I hope!

you made? Frustration is usually lessened with more patience. Good luck with getting right part.

judge them by how quickly and responsive they are to correcting the problem.

I apologize that my message came across wrong.
I was very excited to get the new parts and install them, and was just quite disappointed that whoever pulled the parts didn't look. One would assume that since the parts are so similar they would take time to double-check.
I've made plenty of mistakes in my life, including not explaining the situation well enough in my initial posting. I didn't mean to come across that negatively. I love my A4 and the help people on this forum provide.
I am impressed that many people came to Clair's defense so quicly. They must be a decent parts place. The price was definately better than elsewhere!
I'll post later concerning the experience of getting the right part sent to me.
Once again, I didn't mean to sound so negative. I was just questioning if other people had problems from Clair.

I have ordered lots of stuff from Clair Parts Express...everything came just fine. Please refrain from badmouthing a vendor on this site for an isolated incidence. I believe that Barry and the rest of the boys at Clair will rectify the situation quickly. It would be another thing entirely if something similar had happened with four of your last five orders with them. You ever work in a warehouse pulling parts? Give em a break.

Did you look at the labels on the outside of the parts boxes (not the shipping carton)?
Clair sent me three incorrect alloy wheels, out of four ordered. The kicker was the Audi part labels on each box -- they all had the correct part number and description for the wheels I ordered.
I agree that, for mail order, it could save time overall if Clair people look inside the boxes before they ship them. They did send me the wheels I ordered, and they did reimburse me for shipping the incorrect wheels back to them.
In this case, I bet the problem was with Audi's OEM wheel manufacturer in Norway. Lighten up...

Being in the mail order business myself, we always try to fill each order correctly, but sometimes mistakes happen. We offer ti have the item picked up and replaced, and refund any shipping charges. Ultimately, we don't make money on the transaction, but we hope that our POSITIVE attitude will help the customer consider us again.
