I have to say both were very impressive cars. I still don't see why anyone would buy a TT when a nicer, and quicker S4 is just a few grand away though. We drove the A4 first and the MT6 shifts much smoother than our MT5. The clutch comes out quicker which is also an improvement. The only thing that I had trouble with is it seemed like the peddles were closer and I had a hard time heel-toeing with my size 10's until I got used to it. I could drive the car much faster than out B6 A4. It handled great.

The TT felt less refined but is a good size for aggressive driving. I liked the sound of the 3.2 when I started the engine. The first shift resulted in the wipers coming on LOL. After I got used to the paddles I was able to run it pretty hard. I really like the rev-matching on down shifts. The only thing I would like to add to the system is some aluminum paddles. I think it would feel and look a lot better and shouldn't be very expensive.

I still want the 2.0t MT6Q though. AOA PLEASE bring me one. The DSG is pretty nice for an auto but I like to feel the car pull with every shift. I also like the extra peddle and I love rowing the gears. It may be my ADHD LOL but that is my preference.

Auto....its a Auto Clutch Manual.
No Tq. Converter, etc.

I looked at it before I bought my S4. Just too impractical for me.

somebody ought to tell the TT guys this

they are in the middle of working on some paddles of their own... which ought to be pretty hot if they ever get em made up.

I drove an MT6 S4 and have been dreaming of it ever since.

Those paddles will be a nice touch. Should be a great combo and I havent completly counted it out yet but am leaning towards the MT6.

I love Audis so both are great choices.

It's an auto. A very quick one, but still an auto.

The Tq converter/planetary gears etc.....in the technical form, as well as any automotive write up...you see this. Its not just marketing.

it can possibly handle more torque. I don't know the exacts, but this came from a person who went to Pasadena and test drove them.

the DSG is closer to a manual gearbox imo than an auto... it provides the snap shifts of manual with ease of operation of tiptronic... this isnt an "automatic" gearbox like you find in a buick... auto boxes dont really behave like a DSG since they are internally a completely different mechanism. Its like calling a Wankel quad rotor engine a 4cyl. Failure to distinguish the two makes you sound ignorant or at best indifferent.

Correct...there are several varieants of the DSG for TQ handeling reasons. All the ay from the TT to the 1001 HP Bugatti Veyron that will be soon released. Porsche was going to put the DSG tranny in the CGT but ran out of time....THE DSG is a highly tunably tranny.

Sorry, Am i missing the point here... dosn't DSG give you the option to change gears AUTOmatically.

Comparing Buick to DSG might indeed be like comparing the SMART autobox to BMW's SMG. But they still work on the principle that the car works the clutch for you. (that defines it as an Auto)

It's not ignorance, it's fact. Regardless of components. It has no manual clutch, therefore (to the millions of non mechanically minded motorists)... it's an auto.

check the dictionary definition...
"A transmission or a motor vehicle with an automatic gear-shifting mechanism."
