Can anyone tell me how easy it is to take all of the "guts" out of my plastic mirror housings and put them into aluminium ones? I've tried looking for a Haynes manual, but they don't do one for an S3 or A3!!!

Im not really sure if it helps but I changed my mirrors from normal red to chrome.

All that I had to do was to remove the mirror glass.....then remove 3 screws and then the cover came of.
