All,

I just upgraded the headlights in my 944 to Hella Euro lights and realized just how poor my A4 lights are. I have a 98.5 Avant QMS. I've checked around and there are a few places that sell the Euro conversion ( non-xenon ) kits ( Autobahn, GreedSpeed, and LLTek ). However, I have a couple of questions first. I checked the FAQ, but could not get the link to come up.

1) What are city lights?
2) Can I get the lights w/o the clear corners and still use my current corne lamps?
3) Will I loose the fog lights? Do I have to get aftermarket fogs instead?
4) Can you upgrade the high beam bulb easily? I would want to go 100w hi and 55w low.
5) Anyone have pictures of their lights?

Thanks in advance for all your help,
Rick

The Bosch e-codes (Greedspeed, Autobahn) are plug and play, using your existing bulbs (H7). You do not need to upgrade the corners with these, and you do not loose your fogs. The city light is a small (5w I think) bulb in the headlamp that makes the headlight glow when the parking lights are on. It is pretty easy to splice into the corner marker wiring. Since it uses the stock bulbs, it is a little harder to find higher power bulbs. After putting them on my car, I decided the better optics on the lens gave me enough improvement to hold off on getting more powerful bulbs.
The Valeo lamps (LLTek) are more of a hassle to install and will probably require the corner markers as well. You will lose the fogs. However, they use an H4 bulb, so will be easier to upgrade.

Chris,

Thanks for the help. Sounds like the Bosch lights are the way to go. Do you know if Hella makes lights for the A4? I know Bosch makes quality stuff, I'm just partial to Hella. Just wondering.

Thanks again for your help.

Rick

I suppose you could get add on rally lights, but Bosch and Valeo are it for replacement headlights AFAIK.
