Hey There,
Was driving home on I-5 North between Roseburg and Eugene, OR on Tuesday and came across a caravan of 3 Audi A3's on what appeared to be some sort of road test. I am not too sure if the A3 has been released in the US as of yet, but I thought you would enjoy the picts.....If the A3 is now common in the US(havn't seen any out here in the boonies, my apologies).

I'm pretty sure these haven't been released yet. for some reason I thought it was going to be 2004. In any event, it was my understanding that only the four door was to make it to US shores.

Anybody got the scoop on what Audi's plans are?

The 2.0 FSI engine will match up well against the regular RSX and the 3.2 should blow away the Type S. And if there is TDI... ok, that's not happening for sure...

I've heard the same as you from the Audi salespeople I know. An A3 in US maybe for 2004 or 2005, 4 door only. They're also talking about a 350hp RS3 for the US; but could be they're just throwing that out there to see reaction to the idea.

But this has all been posted here before, right? (This is only like the 3rd thread I've read over here in this forum.)

Read an article (Audiworld? or maybe quattro quarterly?) about Audi US testing HQ in AZ which gets pre-production and non-US model Euro cars for testing. AZ plates on the pictured cars and that goofy euro trailer hitch fit the scenario.

Only current/potential/rumored model that would even cause me to consider going through the 8 month hell they call ordering a new Audi: 350hp RS3 w/ DVD Nav+, memory seats, DSG paddle shifters
