Hi. the rear wiper on my 1997 A3 only moves an inch when switched on and then stops. i suspect a relay failure but cannot find the relays to check/change. can anyone either suggest another solution or tell me where the relays are please ?

mine has a problem too - it sometimes pauses on its way back for a few secs then continues...

I had to replace the motor on my 98 A3, the wiper would wipe the window in a staggered motion, so it ended up costing about £145 to get it done at audi. (new motor + labour)

I would disconnect the linkage from the motor and check if the wiper is free moving or not. They can sometimes seize in the shaft due to all the dampness it encounters. If it is stiff, you would have to dismantle it and clean it up with wire wool and then re-grease it.
