I feel I've reached the end of the road interms of mods to my A3 1.8T Sport without undertaking serious internal engine upgrades which I don't want to do. However a friend has mentioned I might want to add an intercooler, cooler air meaning more power ?? Has anyone done this ?? Am I wasting my time if I don't add a bigger turbo say ? I know a guy who's running a golf with a FMIC, full exhaust and chip and currently pumping out 250hp. The problem is I don't think anyone has an FMIC available specifically for the A3.

It's definately worth the upgrade IMO, as you quite rightly state the cooler the air the more dense it is meaning the more power can be acheived.

Or just get a general core and have a shop custom install it. I'm not sure how much the Golf and A3 bumpers differ.
