I am selling my 1998 A3 with the 1.8 125 hp engine. Some potential buyers ask if this configuration will hold a turbo without any modifications otherwise?
My new A3 has the 2.0 TDI. Any experiences chipping this?

The internals of the 1.8 and the 1.8T are the same so it is quite possible, to add a turbo, but not sure it's worth the effort IMO, especially when the rest of the car will need modding.
For the chip on your new A3 I'd suggest a look at www.oettinger.de, as I believe they are the only ones currently with a chip for the new A3 available. I've got their chip in my 1.8T and it does just the job.

sure did, I plugged it in to the exhaust but it made the car slower and a lot noisier. Do you have to connect the other side of it to anything LOL! MMM, at least he got a Garrett but it ain't an 03 or 04 I think is says GT17(?)
