what is the biggest size of rims i can put on my car n like width as well n also what type of tyres wuld i fit on em?

8" wide rims are also best...

Wheell offset should be a concern also, as fender rubbing issues and brake clearance may be a concern...

As suggested 18" or 17" the best option.

Personally 18's look very good on the A3 and do not compromise the ride too much.

I would go for 17" j7

225/45/17 tyres

they give the minimum amount of problems
18's can rub on the arches and stuff

18's can rub on arches!! Where have you heard this from!

Costa (XXX1.8T) is running 18's on a drop of 50mm with no problems, and although he has the arches rolled, that for visual, but was not necessary.

19's are fine on a 30mm drop from what I know, and will not rub. And their is definately no problem on fitting 19's on a standard A3!!
