Could be that the A4's sun visor is thicker than most. My Lift-Master garage door opener remote control unit's clip is chewing up the A4's sun visor.

Has anybody found a solution?

I looked up www.garagedoordepot.com looking for a different type of transmitter, without much luck. Any ideas.

I'm going to go buy the sun visor from the S4 (homelink system) and put it in my A4. That will get rid of 2 remotes from the sun visor! I haven't found a price yet and I really don't believe that I could get one just yet. I'll post just as soon as the project is complete.

Griot's (and others) sell a small remote about the size of the small Post-It note designed to go on a keychain, but could live in your car.

There's also a gizmo that replaces your ciggie lighter, check it out at handytouch.com.

. . . and replace it with a plain "container insert", then there would be room for it.

It'll fit inside the housing of a defroster switch, and not need batteries (runs off of the car). I'll make it a FAQ when I'm done.

In my 99.5 it looks like you could fit 3 blank buttons in place of the pop-out cup holder. Haven't done it and I am not sure how to remove the cup holder.

I want it gone -- people keep putting dripping cans of soda. :)
