Anyone had any problems with coils (electrical variety) ?
My S3 has gone through 2 now(different cylinders), in the 4 months I've owned it (from new) and a mate of mine with a TT has had the same problem. They've replaced them all now with new versions but I think they should have recalled the affected cars.
Has there been any mention of recalls?

I had one fail about 2 months ago on my A3 Quattro (car now 10 months old). I don't believe there has been a recall yet and I don't think there will be. My Audi dealer claimed that they rarely fail although I have heard of numerous failures.

My A3 quattro has just failed with the same problem.

It seems Audi is having great problems with the supply of these parts. They reckon my car wont be back for a couple of weeks. Audi are only replacing the affected coils as they break which is outrageous because the chance of the others going seems highly likely, resulting in yet more damage to my car.

This problem is one of a huge number of things that have failed on my car since I bought it.

Unimpressed is an understatement.
