I will soon be taking delivery of a new 130 1.9 tdi A3 SE. Can the windows be controlled by the remote central locking? If not, is it possible to buy a bit of kit to do this? I know something exists to fit to VWs.

Windows can be controlled by remote. When window is open, lock doors with remote and hold button for about 5 seconds. You'll notice the window starts to go up. You have to keep hold of the button until you want to stop.

Same can be done when unlocking. Unlock car with remote and hold button. Window goes down after 5 seconds until you release button.

I would prefer it if you could program to close the windows automatically every time you lock the car. I used to have this on my old Corsa and it was great.

hi, i've just got a 1997 1.8 SE with an alarm - I was surprised to find that you can lock and alarm the car with the windows open and still have the internal sensors on. I recently left the car with a window open for hours 'cos i'd accidently opened the passenger window with a single press of the electric window from the driver side - i didn't see the window go down and presumed the car was all locked up 'cos the alarmed beeped at me.

guess i'll know for next time, and always check the windows! I'd also prefer if the windows closed automatically when the alarm was set.

Thanks for the remote info.
