What are your suggestion for tires? What is the mileage that you get out of them? Would go for Michelin of Pirelli? And have any of you changed the brake pads and once again after how many km??

Thanks Haledex!!!

Just back from 20k mile service.
Advised, brake pad wear:front 20% rear 10%
Tyres Michelin Pilots: front 5.5mm rear 6mm
I think I drive too conservatively, my wife would disagree!

I did 26 000 kms up to now. A couple of days ago I had to change my brake pads as they totally wore out, however I am far from being satisfied with the result, the new pads do not seem to hold well enough. Does anyone have a suggestion for more effective after-market brake pads?
As for the tyres, they are over as well. I have a friend who uses Michelin on his S3 and he is not happy with those ones. Right now I cannot make up my mind if the tyres should be Pirelli Pzero, Bridgestone S02 or Yokohama or maybe Toyo. Any suggestions? My priority is to cover as many kilometres as possible with the new tyres.
And Domus, your wife has no reason to be upset, you MUST be on the conservative side if you could cover 20000 miles...

between grip and longevity.

I put S-02s on my previous Audi. They had done about 16,000 miles when I sold the car, and probably had about another 4000 miles left. IMHO, anything over 15,000 miles is a bonus.I rate them the best tyres I have had.

I had to change the original RE-040s at just under 15,000 miles, when the rear offside got a puncture - the remaining 3 had about 3-4,000 miles to go. I decided to give the Toyo Proxes a try-out, as my local tyre man ( and rally driver)recommended them highly.

As I have only done about 1500 miles on the Toyos, there is not much I can say about them. Definitely harsher riding than the 040s, but better turn-in, and surprisingly, very good cold weather braking (-3 degreesC)as 2 squirels can be thankful for the other morning.
