The price he quotes (DM145000) is very reasonable, if you consider that I paid DM100000 for my stock S3 :(

I'd buy one immediately if I could find one at that price, but the taxes I have to pay on top of the purchase price would kill me. What a shame!

If that's an S3 with an RS4 engine, doesn't that mean they had to change Quattro types? Or do you think they managed to cram that 2.7 biturbo in there sideways? I was under the impression that the reason we all have the Haldex system was because the engine was mounted transversally(?)(sideways) and the Torsen was setup for engines mounted straight on. I'm still kind of new at all this, but I figured maybe one of you all could try and explain it.

getting Torsen to work with transverse engines is the hard bit.

As the Haldex is just in front of the rear diff it works from the end of the driveshaft so it does not matter which way the enginge is mounted.

The Torsen on the other hand is attached to the back of the gearbos and runs the drive to the front wheels forward though the hollow section of the driveshaft back towards the engine.

A torsen could be fitted to a transverse engine but the car would need to be about 2 and a half metres wide.

Hope that makes sense
