Just a quick one, few probs to report mainly re washer fluid/screen wash/small washwipe tank?
Rear view washwipe and apparent lack of heated windscreen jets...in the recent Dec/Jan cold weather A3 didnt seem to fare as well as expected.
Screen wash with antifreeze was a let down obv very low concentration so that was easily resolvable but car had been in for service/repair(!?@* - again dont ask...)and this wwas obv missed...heated washer jets? dont think so
Rear windscreen washer jet -now very poor jet cant seem to unblock it - very weak was good.. any ideas?

Anyone noticed that the capacity of the washwipe tank is small - 3l goes in no time perhaps I wipe more regularily, or should I be using something on the windscreen itself? Think I've seen some posts - any handy tips?

Any way added several K ,mileage! to the car with a good trip down to France for New Year, very good drive depite interesting sub zero road conditions N France..FWD produced intersting results with a full load no mishaps however.
Return journey was better weather wise and also provided a good opportunity to get soem serious motoring - responsible but quick (125 on the clock) - OK not legal but road conditions etc etc before anyone comments, incidentally I didnt push above this for no other reason than my fiances interest in velocity! (She had driven my car as fast in Italy last summer so...) Car seems fine and engine felt very capable..

Apart from that its back to UK for bad motorway driving again,

Al - sorry to hear your probs with yours...

Hi,

I noticed too that the rear washer jet didn't seem to be heated. And only thawed after about 1/2 hour or more of driving. (Thanks for reminding me about that, I'd forgotten) I think the front ones are heated, as they worked within a few minutes.

Yep, 3L tank is a pain. I filled up New Years Eve and just got the chime this evening, so thats 10 days driving. And I clean the windows alot too.

Cheers for the condolences, hopefully it will get fixed on Friday 19th. John Robins online support last night on ICQ thinks it is likely to be the MAF sensor (again) or the lambda sensor. We'll just have to see.

Regards,

AL

My S3 goes into the garage next week (earliest date) as the rear wash has packed in completely. Bummer in this weather.

I find that the tank runs out much more quickly when the headlights are on - I don't know how much used for the headlamp washers.

Any one else had the rear wiper motor replaced?

I'm on my third...

Still not bad as apart from the above, Bose and the sh*ite braking system, no major problems over 2yrs and 65K miles.

Although it holds 3litres, when the pretty little icon is displayed I think there is still about 1 litre in the bottle. I use a 2 litre pop bottle to mix my screen wash and it just about takes it all.
