...with a mega-mod'ed A3 in it.
I'll not go into specific details...it's just got to be seen to be believed. What has the guy done!! Arrggh!

I get the boring US version...no...ah hem...pics like yours. :-)
...done to the A3. The car is infact a turbo diesel, and is owned by a Belgium guy. (Do you read this forum?) The looked to have a neat induction kit installed. The cone being contained in a cylindrical container, with colder blowing in from one end. BMC I think is the manufacturer.
The rest of the mag is full of the most hideously modified cars I have ever seen. Over-The-Top is an understatement.

I have been a reader of maxpower for 4 years and i have every issue since september 1996
The cars in that mag i know not too all of your taste
but their is somthing special about driving about in a car the looks like no other or sounds like no other and most of the cars featured have 200bhp+
AND WERE NOT ALL BOY RACERS!!
if tou dont beleave me or just want to see more of the cars i would suggest if you live near london i would sugest a trip to the mean street cruise its a legal cruise held in essex its a great night and its well worth a visit or go down to a local cruise and check out the cars i know you think of us maxpower readers a RS turbo drivers with blue lights and eyebrows over our lights were not!!

what??
tell me what you mean!
Big_tea,
The magazine does have a reputation. But a few years ago I did used to buy the magazine on a regular basis. And I've still got them too! It was a good introduction to what mods people do to cars. At the time I'd never heard of induction kits or dump valves, so it taught me some terms etc.
Comparing the magazine back in 96/97 to the issue I've just bought, I really do thing the magazine has gone further down the hill it was already on. It just has a trashy feel to it now. It doesn't go into enough depth on what mods have been done, you get a few paragraphs of complete blurb on the car, nothing informative. Maybe its me, maybe I've grown out of the mag - I don't know.
With regards to the cars that feature, some have been worked on with a great deal of care and are very tasteful. These tend to be the ones done by tuning firms. But either way, the ones that look the business are the ones that have had thousands spent on them. So the people that mod them must have some serious dosh hanging around. But the rest of the cars are either crap cars modified or decent cars modified to look bloody stupid.
Revs is a bit more upmarket. Glossier, longer articles, a bit more detail about the mods, less tits and less stupid looking cars.
But each to their own. If everyone liked the same thing in the world - the world would be a boring and less amusing place.
Cheers,

Big T,
Its all down too taste, I appreciate your enthusiasm - Withoout wishing to offend, I just think that the wide wheel RS brigade or scoobie lot (when older and got a job) are mistaken about life!
For me most of the attraction of cars is down to understatement not sledgehammer in-yer-face "I've gottabigengine-ncandrivefasterthanyow / look at me go-faster stripes..." -but there again I may have got that wrong...tweaks under the bonnet count more than "clown plastic" (cheers Ownly for that one!).
If I really am mistaken then I'm sure you will set the record straight -
T Sport ;-> !
Pardon me for asking, but why are you posting on the Audi forum if you read MaxPower?
Surely the scrotty Ford XR2i/XR3i forum would be more to your taste!
(with bodykits if you want to be REALLY original)
