...It's been having the problem all week, but to a much lesser extent than on New Year's Day. It mainly happens after a night of being stood still, and when it's cold and damp. On a journey it can be doing it one minute and then fine the next - very strange.

Will get it seen to this week.

But the interior is coming along nicely. I've improved the door panels a great deal. Although getting the lower bolt of the glovebox in place the other day was a real bitch! Just got to sort out centre console and instrument cluster squeaks now. But I'm confident now, that I'll improve the car.

My clear side repeaters have now arrived, which I'll fit next weekend.

I will mail you. But it's all very much trial and error. (I had last week off work to investigate these problems) I got my advice of David R (cheers Dave), which was basically work through this list:-

1) Try silicone spray on contact surfaces
2) Try Krytox
3) Use felt tape or squash racket grip tape on contact surfaces behind the panels.

The last on the list has worked for me (so far), with a little Krytox dotted about. Glovebox is still making noises though.

Regards,

AL

Hi,

Your dealer should be able to get it. "Krytox" is how my dealer referred to it. The lubricant itself comes in an Audi/VW box, with a Audi/VW part number. It is rumoured that the lubricant itself is "krytox" made by Du Pont.

The link below shows a picture of the bottle. The part number can be read to the side of (above) the word lubricant.

Hope your dealer can get it for you. By the way, that little bottle costs £35!

Cheers,
