Why don't we agree on a track and see who can post the best time in an A3 or S3, It would be good for a laugh! We need to chose a hard track and A3/S3 owners preferably......

I haven't found a race that uses it but you can access it on time trial on arcade disc, it's very small and tight. John. IanJ 04-10-2000, 01:15 AM I fancy Seattle Long. I'll give it a go and post some times/cars. A3 1.8 (Ebony Black met) 1999-V. AL B 04-10-2000, 01:26 AM John, Great idea! Hard circuit Motor Sports land, but a good challenge. I suppose we are talking about times using a standard A3 or S3? Alan. Wando 04-10-2000, 10:55 AM If we agree on standard we have to be clear on tyres etc, etc. John. AL B 04-10-2000, 12:07 PM Wando 04-10-2000, 12:15 PM A3 & S3 both running control tyres(not super soft), you'd better start practicing then! AL B 04-10-2000, 12:30 PM AL B 04-10-2000, 03:11 PM These times are probably crap. I de-modified my A3, but unfortunately you can't remove the weight reduction, so it had to remain. Car: A3 with stage2 weight reduction (1087kg), 150hp, Professional Tyres. Track: Motor Sports Land Fastest Lap: 11-Apr-2000, 0:44.679, Max speed 96.61km/h, Manual Gears. Track: Laguna Seca Raceway Fastest Lap: 11-Apr-2000, 1:53.932, Max speed 162.21 km/h Alan. AL B 04-10-2000, 03:14 PM Car: S3 completley standard, 208hp, Professional Tyres. Track: Motor Sports Land Fastest Lap: 11-Apr-2000, 0:41.325, Max speed 98.39km/h, Auto Gears. Track: Laguna Seca Raceway Fastest Lap: 11-Apr-2000, 1:48.250, Max speed 168.72 km/h, Auto Gears. Regards, Alan. Wando 04-11-2000, 12:42 AM AL B 04-11-2000, 02:07 AM my car doesn't understeer *that* much! Good fun though. And once you get used to them, they do start to feel quite grippy(?) Alan Wando 04-11-2000, 08:15 AM Motor Sports Land A3 standard 12-Apr-2000, 0:40.777, max speed 98.90km/h S3 standard 12-Apr-2000, 0:38.201, max speed 101.59km/h Both completely standard on real life tyres, auto gears and no weight reduction etc, brand new cars bought especially, very sore thumb though! AL B 04-11-2000, 08:45 AM Wando 04-11-2000, 09:15 AM AL B 04-11-2000, 09:44 AM Wando 04-11-2000, 09:48 AM You only need to touch it slightly on a couple of corners to combat understeer on control tyres David R 04-11-2000, 10:07 AM I am struggling at about 0:43 for the A3 and 0:41 for the S3 - I find the huge embankment type thing is best driven over but the "realsitic" tyres are crap - especially on the A3 - a car understeers more on power not less! I will practice some more though.... Regards David David R 04-11-2000, 10:09 AM Wando 04-11-2000, 10:16 AM You need to come out of the first corner after the start line almost sideways, keep the next corner tight and go straight across the embankment, again tight next corner then straighten out the chicane by going over the grass a bit of handbrake after braking into the next corner then again a bit into the final corner, the only problem with this track is I'm sick of the bloody sound of it wheelspinning all the time, I could knock another second off the time with all my best sector times, but you're so little in control that the chance of getting all on the same lap is slim. AL B 04-11-2000, 10:19 AM Glad you are having a go, it's not a two horse race now! :) Wando 04-11-2000, 10:25 AM David R 04-11-2000, 10:26 AM AL B 04-11-2000, 10:29 AM David R 04-11-2000, 10:34 AM Wando 04-11-2000, 10:35 AM AL B 04-11-2000, 10:39 AM David R 04-11-2000, 10:43 AM AL B 04-11-2000, 10:48 AM |
