Can anyone confirm if the S3 rear spoiler can
be fitted to the regular A3? My Audi dealer said
yes but was very vague...

I have heard via a dealer that the rear doors are slightly different and therefore the S3 spoiler does not fit unless you change the door. The UK price is about £1000 !!
The S3 version is very neat but not £1000 worth of neatness.
I think I may look at aftermarket versions, the Charactere version looks very smart ( check out joemamma's pictures, see below )

My concern is if the spoiler is more than neat...
At high speeds (180+ Km/h), every bit of
downforce is welcomed... I don't think Audi put
that spoiler on the S3 just for looks... But you're
right, £1000 is too expensive...

it is possible to fit the s3 spoiler to the a3,but you will need to buy a new s3 tailgate as this has the necessary holes for fitting the spoiler. as for the total cost, difficult to say,but you must remember that the rear screen is bonded in ,so the final price may include the cost of a new screen,if the old one breaks when you take it out.

Surely wouldn't it be possible to just drill the necessary holes as you would have to with any aftermarket spoiler?

..but don't you just find this hard to believe.

I mean, Audi, rather than putting two holes in an existing A3 tailgate design at the factory, they think "I know we'll manufacturer a completely new tailgate for the S3, so that we can put a roof spoiler on!" Well, thats German efficiency isn't it -- NOT!

It's a joke. Yeah, I'd go for a third party one, just on principle! :)

all of the aftermarket spoilers i supply are bonded to the tailgate,ie no drilling .not the best way i agree but alot cheaper than the s3 spoiler option
