Hello all. In the last few days I have fallen headlong in love with the Audi S3. It is the perfect car for me. I am curious how much they cost. I know that they are available in Mexico, and I would even consider driving down there, buying one, paying the import taxes and everything else necessary to get it up here to the US. I am just curious how much this grand scheme would cost me to undertake. I absolutely must have one, well, maybe.

Even if its too many thousands of dollars, please reply if you can with info on it, not attempts to dissuade me from it, unless its backed up by numbers :-) Thanks!

I know what you mean about falling in love with the S3. I am in the same boat as you are...I want one so badly and I know many others that would do just about anything to have one. I know the A3/S3 line is at the end of its life-cycle, but I wish AoA would do something crazy & fun and send over a limited edition S3 to the US. I know it would sell like hotcakes!!! I would love to import an S3, but I can't imagine what the cost would be. When everything is said and done with importing an S3, you could probably by yourself a nice A6 4.2 or 2.7t. If Audi doesn't send over a bad ass coupe that I can afford, I might just jump the Audi ship and buy the Subaru Impreza Turbo when it comes out.

Heh, the thing is. I dont want an A6. I want an S3 :-). I have a Corrado Right now, and I am a coupe addict. I dont even particularly like the styling of the A6. I would't mind an S4 tho... But I still really want an S3 coupe. I have some friends vacationing down in mexico right now, and I e-mailed them to see if they can find a price on one. In pesos at least.

I hear ya.....I don't want the A6 or S4. Just call me a fellow coupe addict. I used to own a '93 Corrado and now I own a '91 Audi Coupe quattro. I like the TT, but not as much as the S3 and I can't afford the TT. Damn I want the S3!!! I wish Audi would make it easy for people like us and just send it to the US. I would definitely be interested in the price your friends find on the S3.

You can buy it in Italy for around $28000 without VAT Taxed and ship it to USA for $800. than you have to do your homework....

The price of the S3 in Mexico is $45,000 USD.

Prices of all Audi models are ridiculously VERY HIGH here in Mexico, so I really don't think it would be a good deal for you.

i.e. The base price of an Audi TT without any options is $45,000.
Like $15,000 more than in USA.
